Prof. Beeraka Ramesh Babu is a distinguished academician, researcher, and library and information science professional with more than 32 years of experience in teaching, research, administration, and professional service. He served as Professor (Retd.) in the Department of Library and Information Science, University of Madras, Chennai.

He began his professional career as Assistant Librarian at State Regional Library, Guntur, Andhra Pradesh, in 1979, followed by his service as College Librarian at Ramakrishna Mission Vivekananda College, Chennai. He joined the Department of Library and Information Science, University of Madras, as Lecturer in 1990 and progressed through the positions of Reader and Professor. He also served as Visiting Professor at the Faculty of Informatics, Mahasarakham University, Thailand.

Throughout his academic career, Prof. Ramesh Babu has made significant contributions to the advancement of Library and Information Science through innovative teaching practices, research activities, professional leadership, and academic mentoring.
