Mr. Premchandra Oinam is a dedicated research scholar in the field of Botany and Life Sciences. He is currently pursuing his Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) under the supervision of Prof. Athokpam Pinokiyo and co-supervision of Dr. Ranjana Rajkumari, Retired Associate Professor and Former Head of the Department of Botany at Dhanamanjuri University, Manipur. His doctoral research work has progressed significantly, and he has successfully completed his pre-submission stage. His academic journey reflects strong commitment to botanical research, particularly in the study of wetland plant diversity and taxonomy.
Research Interests
Mr. Oinam’s research primarily focuses on Plant Taxonomy, Ethnobotany, wetland biodiversity, and ecological documentation of wetland plants in Loktak Lake, Manipur, which is recognized as an important Ramsar site. His work contributes to understanding the diversity, classification, and ecological importance of wetland flora, supporting conservation efforts and sustainable ecosystem management.
Publications and Scholarly Contributions
Mr. Premchandra Oinam has contributed to scientific literature through both book chapters and research articles. He is the first author of a book chapter titled “Taxonomy of Wetland Plants in Thanga Area, Manipur, N.E. India”, published in 2022 in the book Emerging Trends in Life Science Research by Akansha Publishing House, New Delhi.
