Dr. Pramod Hanamgond is a distinguished geoscientist and academician who served as Associate Professor and Head, Department of Geology at Govindram Seksaria Science College, Belagavi, India, from January 1994 to March 2023. With nearly three decades of dedicated service, he has made enduring contributions to teaching, research, academic governance, and institutional development. He also served as Adviser to the institution and played a pivotal role in quality assurance as an IQAC Core Committee Member (from 2002 onwards) and IQAC Coordinator for two NAAC accreditation cycles.

Dr. Hanamgond has conducted extensive and original research on the Uttara Kannada beaches and the Southern Maharashtra coast, contributing significantly to the understanding of the Central West Coast of India.

• 27 papers in national journals

• 16 papers in international journals (including two chapters in international encyclopedias)

• 16 papers in seminar and conference proceedings

He holds the rare distinction of publishing 18 coastal photographs, including two cover photographs, in the Journal of Coastal Research.
His scholarly output also includes a notable monograph titled “Morphodynamic State of the Beaches of Uttara Kannada District, West Coast of India” (2002).
He contributed the chapter “India” to the Encyclopedia of the World’s Coastal Landforms and has served on the Editorial Boards of reputed national and international journals.

• Completed four major research projects and one minor project, funded by the Department of Science & Technology, Ministry of Earth Sciences, and University Grants Commission

• Co-guided seven MD dissertations for Ayurveda postgraduate students (KLE’s BMK Ayurveda Mahavidyalaya)

  • 15 crash courses and 3 national workshops for Ayurveda UG/PG students
