Dr. Chandana N C is an accomplished Cardiothoracic and Vascular Surgeon currently serving as Associate Professor in the Department of CTVS at SJICR, Bengaluru. With extensive expertise in adult and congenital cardiac surgery, she has independently operated and assisted in nearly 2000 cardiac surgical procedures, including CABG surgeries, valve repairs and replacements, Bentall procedures, aortic surgeries, minimally invasive cardiac surgeries, and thymectomies.
She has held academic and clinical positions across reputed healthcare institutions including National Institute of Mental Health and Neurosciences (NIMHANS), Sagar Hospitals, and BGS Global Hospital. Since 2017, she has been serving as a Visiting Consultant Cardiac Surgeon at NIMHANS, performing thymectomies for Myasthenia Gravis patients free of cost.
In addition to her surgical career, Dr. Chandana is actively involved in postgraduate medical education, mentoring residents, thesis guidance, and academic training in cardiothoracic surgery.

Dr. Chandana currently serves as the Member Secretary of the Internal Complaints Committee (ICC/POSH) at SJICR. In this leadership role, she contributed to the development of “SUHRD,” an innovative mobile application designed to enhance workplace safety and strengthen mechanisms for prevention and redressal of sexual harassment.
The app provides SOS-based emergency support, anonymous complaint filing, and real-time administrative alerts, reflecting her commitment to combining healthcare leadership with technological innovation and institutional safety.
She is also an Editorial Board Member of the Journal of Cardiovascular Medicine and Surgery and has served as organizing faculty, scientific committee member, invited faculty, and organizing secretary for several major cardiology and cardiothoracic surgery conferences.
