Dr. Ishrat Jan is an accomplished analytical chemist and Assistant Residue Analyst at the Research Centre for Residue and Quality Analysis (RCRQA), Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology of Kashmir (SKUAST-K). She has nearly a decade of professional experience in pesticide residue analysis, food safety, contaminant monitoring, and analytical method development through her active involvement in the prestigious All India Network Project on Pesticide Residues (AINP-PR & Contaminants) and the Monitoring of Pesticide Residues at National Level (MPRNL) project. Beginning her career as a Senior Research Fellow (2016–2018), she has served as Assistant Residue Analyst since 2018, contributing significantly to laboratory research, analytical testing, and quality assurance. She also has teaching experience in Agricultural Chemicals, Food Science, and Biochemistry, while mentoring postgraduate and Ph.D. students.

As Deputy Quality Manager, she has played a key role in preparing documentation for NABL accreditation (ISO/IEC 17025:2017) of the Pesticide Residue Analysis Laboratory.
