Dr. Poonam Sherwani is an accomplished academic radiologist currently serving as Additional Professor at AIIMS Rishikesh (from 1 July 2023 to present), with over 2 years in her current role. She has played a pivotal role in advancing pediatric radiology, diagnostic imaging, and academic training through her clinical expertise, teaching, and leadership in national programs.

She initiated and leads the PDCC Pediatric Radiology Program (since 2020) at AIIMS Rishikesh, training two candidates annually. The program integrates diagnostic imaging, pediatric interventional radiology, structured seminars, case discussions, and clinic-radiological meets, with hands-on experience in non-vascular interventions such as guided biopsies, PCD, PCN, and sclerotherapy.
