Dr. Annapurna Sahoo is an accomplished plant molecular biologist and biotechnology researcher with expertise in plant immunity, molecular genetics, RNA biology, nanobiotechnology, and sustainable agriculture. She earned distinction as a Gold Medalist in Zoology Honours from Nayagarh Autonomous College, Utkal University, and later received the prestigious Best Ph.D. Thesis Award (Provost Award) from Centurion University of Technology and Management, Odisha.

Her international research career includes serving as a Researcher at Myongji University, Republic of Korea (2013–2018), where she contributed to cutting-edge studies on plant immune signaling and nonsense-mediated mRNA decay under the mentorship of Prof. Sang Hyon Kim.
