Research Contributions & Scientific Innovations
Dr. Sinha has made remarkable contributions to the fields of toxicology, environmental monitoring, and public health protection. His groundbreaking research has addressed critical challenges related to pesticide exposure, food contaminants, environmental pollutants, and toxic chemical effects on human health.
One of his major scientific achievements includes the development of a new tissue schizontocidal and gametocytocidal drug for malaria treatment, which demonstrated improved activity and reduced toxicity compared to primaquine. This innovation received a Government of India patent and contributed significantly to malaria research.
He established scientific methodologies for health risk assessment and maximum residue limit (MRL) determination of pesticides in carbonated beverages, leading to improved food safety standards and regulatory monitoring. His work supported national-level policy decisions and strengthened export quality standards.
Dr. Sinha also developed a novel biomarker-based approach for monitoring organophosphate pesticide exposure through acetylcholinesterase enzyme estimation. This advancement has important clinical applications in early detection, prognosis, and management of pesticide poisoning cases.
His research has further contributed to:
- Biomonitoring of pesticide exposure among children and agricultural workers.
- Toxicokinetic studies of pesticide poisoning cases.
- Environmental health risk assessment.
- Food contamination analysis.
- Development of advanced LC-MS/MS and GC-MS analytical techniques.
- Investigation of antiviral potential of Adefovir dipivoxil against dengue virus.
