Dr. Niyati Das is a distinguished nursing academician, researcher, and administrator with 34 years of professional experience in nursing education, clinical practice, academic leadership, and research. She is currently serving as the Professor cum Principal (In-Charge) of the Kalinga Institute of Nursing Sciences (KINS), KIIT Deemed to be University, Bhubaneswar, a position she has held since September 2022. Prior to this, she served as Professor-cum-Vice Principal, Associate Professor, and held several key academic and administrative positions within KIIT.
Her professional journey began as a Staff Nurse at Christian Medical College & Hospital, Ludhiana, followed by progressive leadership roles including Sister Tutor, Nursing Superintendent, Vice Principal, and Principal in reputed nursing institutions. Her career reflects a sustained commitment to excellence in nursing education, institutional development, and quality healthcare.
Beyond institutional leadership, Dr. Das serves as the Chairperson of the School Level Research Committee, a Member of the Ethics Committee at KIMS, and a Member of the Academic Council of KIIT Deemed to be University, contributing significantly to academic governance, research ethics, and curriculum advancement.
Research Contributions
Dr. Das has established herself as a prolific researcher with extensive contributions to maternal and child health, neonatal nursing, pediatric nursing, nursing education, public health, mental health, infection prevention, and evidence-based clinical practice. She has authored and co-authored numerous research papers published in reputed national and international peer-reviewed journals, including F1000Research, Cureus, Journal of Family Medicine and Primary Care, Current Pediatric Research, International Journal of Current Research and Review, and several Springer Nature conference proceedings.
Her research includes randomized controlled trials, systematic reviews, experimental studies, and educational intervention research, focusing on improving patient outcomes and nursing practice. She is also currently leading research projects on caregiver education for disabled children and interventions for adolescent premenstrual syndrome.
