Dr. Sullip Kumar Majhi is an eminent fisheries scientist with extensive experience in inland fisheries, aquaculture biotechnology, fish genetics, breeding, and sustainable fisheries management. He has served in several prestigious positions under the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) and has contributed significantly to fisheries research, technology development, and capacity building.

He is currently serving as Head, ICAR–Central Inland Fisheries Research Institute (CIFRI), Regional Centre, Guwahati, Assam since July 2023. Prior to this, he served as Principal Scientist at ICAR–Central Institute of Fisheries Technology (CIFT), Visakhapatnam and National Bureau of Fish Genetic Resources (NBFGR), Lucknow. His professional journey also includes significant research contributions at ICAR Research Complex for Eastern Region, Patna and ICAR Research Complex for North Eastern Hill Region, Meghalaya.

With more than two decades of scientific service, Dr. Majhi has developed expertise in fish genetic improvement, reproductive biotechnology, cryopreservation, surrogate broodstock technology, stem cell-based fisheries management, and inland fisheries development.
