Dr. Karnan Ramachandran is a dedicated academician, researcher, and emerging scientist with more than 9 years of research and teaching experience in the interdisciplinary domains of bio-nanotechnology, computational biology, biostatistics, entomology, marine biotechnology, zoology, and environmental sciences. He is currently serving as an Assistant Professor in the PG Department of Zoology, Annai Vailankanni Arts and Science College, Thanjavur (Affiliated to Bharathidasan University).

He completed his doctoral research in Zoology with a pioneering focus on eco-friendly zoosynthesis of nanomaterials using marine organisms and their biological applications. His Ph.D. research explored the synthesis of CuO nanoparticles from marine sponge Hyattella intestinalis zoochemicals and evaluated their efficacy against agricultural pests through integrated in vitro, in vivo, and in silico approaches.

His research career includes significant contributions as a Research Scholar at the Aquatic Laboratory, PG & Research Department of Zoology, Rajah Serfoji Government College (Autonomous), Thanjavur, and as a Research Associate at Harman Institute of Science Education and Research, Thanjavur, where he contributed to interdisciplinary life science research, funded projects, laboratory management, and student mentoring.
