Dr. Payal Singh is a dedicated medical academician and public health professional currently serving as Faculty in the Department of Community Medicine at Autonomous State Medical College, Sultanpur, Uttar Pradesh, since 20 August 2024. Her work focuses on strengthening epidemiological research, preventive medicine, and community-based health interventions, with particular emphasis on cancer epidemiology and health systems research.
Research Experience & Publications
Dr. Singh has an impressive research profile with 15 published research papers in the field of community medicine, public health, and medical statistics. She has actively contributed to large-scale epidemiological reporting, including the Population Based Cancer Registry (PBCR) and Hospital Based Cancer Registry (HBCR) under the Centre for Cancer Epidemiology (CCE), Tata Memorial Centre (TMC), Mumbai.Her notable published report includes “Cancer Incidence and Mortality in Varanasi District, Uttar Pradesh State, India: 2017”, a first-year PBCR report, with another HBCR annual report currently under process.

Dr. Singh has been involved in impactful research projects addressing critical public health challenges, including:-
Assessment of the effect of the COVID-19 pandemic on cancer-related care and treatment completion among cancer patients in a tertiary cancer hospital of Varanasi district.
