Prof. Atiskumar Chattopadhyay is a distinguished academician, researcher, administrator, and educator with over three decades of experience in physiology, biotechnology, biomedical sciences, and higher education administration. He served as Registrar of Harichand Guruchand University, West Bengal, India till 1st May,2026. Prior to this, he served as Professor in the Department of Allied Health Sciences at Brainware University and as Adjunct Faculty in the School of Life Science and Biotechnology at Adamas University and also he is working as an individual scientist and consultant.

A major part of his professional career was dedicated to Jadavpur University, where he served for nearly 16 years as Secretary and Principal Secretary of the Faculty Council for Postgraduate and Undergraduate Studies in Science. During this period, he played a pivotal role in academic governance, curriculum development, IQAC activities, accreditation processes, NAAC and UGC compliance, institutional ranking submissions, doctoral administration, and organization of national and international academic events. Earlier, he served as Head of the Department, Senior Lecturer, Lecturer in the Depatment of Physiology in Vidyasagar College, Kolkata, one of the leading colleges under University of Calcutta.

Prof. Chattopadhyay has over 30 years of research experience spanning physiology, toxicology, pharmacology, microbiology, biotechnology, herbal medicine, nanotechnology, environmental science, and antimicrobial resistance. His research has significantly contributed to understanding:
