Dr. Vinitha Packirisamy holds a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Physical Chemistry from the University of Madras, Guindy Campus, Chennai. Her doctoral research, titled “Quenching Dynamics of Atomically Precise Luminescent Metal Nanoclusters on Interaction with Proteins and Toxic Metal Ions,” was carried out under the guidance of Dr. P. Prabhu, Assistant Professor (Senior Grade), University of Madras.
She also completed her post-graduation project on “Synthesis of Thiolate-Stabilized Silver Nanoclusters for Spectrophotometric Determination of Toxic Metal Ions,” demonstrating her strong foundation in nanomaterial synthesis and analytical chemistry.
Dr. Vinitha was a first-rank holder in both her undergraduate (B.Sc.) and post-graduate (M.Sc.) programs, earning Prof. Dr. T. Balakrishnan and Prof. P. Natarajan Endowment Gold Medals for academic excellence. She was also the recipient of the prestigious DST-INSPIRE Fellowship (2018–2023) awarded by the Department of Science and Technology, Government of India.
Professional Experience
Currently serving as a Senior Lecturer (May 2024 – Present) at Saveetha Medical College and Hospital, Dr. Vinitha contributes to both teaching and research in the fields of biochemistry, nanomaterials, and environmental chemistry. Her multidisciplinary expertise bridges chemistry and biomedical sciences, fostering innovation in energy materials and biosensing.

She has also contributed to four international book chapters published by Springer Nature and Woodhead Publishing, covering advanced topics in nanomaterials, chemosensing, and hybrid-nanomaterial fabrication.
Her publications include several corresponding author papers, highlighting her leadership in collaborative scientific research.

She has presented her research in multiple international and national conferences, including those organized by the University of Madras, NIT Warangal, and Indian Society of Analytical Scientists. Her presentations have focused on the photophysical properties, biosensing mechanisms, and green synthesis of metal nanoclusters.
