Prof. Naveena Lavanya Latha Jeevigunta is currently serving as an Associate Professor in the Department of Biotechnology, Krishna University, Andhra Pradesh, since October 2021, and has been actively contributing to Krishna University since 2009. With an extensive academic and research career in Biotechnology and Life Sciences, she has made significant contributions to molecular biology, green technology, neurodegenerative disease research, and nanotechnology. Her work demonstrates a blend of innovation, dedication, and leadership in teaching, research, and industrial R&D.

Prof. Jeevigunta has qualified CSIR-JRF NET three times and was awarded a DBT Postdoctoral Fellowship (PDF), during which she conducted advanced research at CCMB, Hyderabad. In addition, she possesses three years of industrial R&D experience at Dr. Reddy’s Laboratories in the Preclinical Biology division, bringing a valuable translational and applied research perspective to her academic work.

She has successfully led research projects funded by national agencies, including:

  • DST Fast Track Young Scientist Project on Characterization of calcium binding proteins from cell wall of Neurospora crassa (Major Project – ₹23 Lakhs).

  • KRU Consultancy Project on Detoxification of toxic heavy metals using bioremediation technology from imitation jewellery industrial effluent (Minor Project – ₹20,000).

Prof. Jeevigunta has a remarkable record of eight patents (granted/published) in India and the UK, covering diverse areas such as medical diagnostics, neurodegenerative disease management, agricultural devices, and green technology innovations.
