Prof. Dinkarrao Amrutrao Patil is an eminent botanist, researcher, educator, academic leader, and author with more than four decades of distinguished contributions to Plant Sciences. His remarkable career has significantly advanced the fields of Botany through teaching, research, biodiversity conservation, taxonomy, ethnobotany, medicinal plants, plant nomenclature, and environmental sciences.

He began his academic career as a Lecturer in Botany at Z.B. Patil College, Dhule, where he served from 1984 to 1988. He later joined L.K. Dr. P.R. Ghogrey Science College, Dhule, and served in various academic positions including Lecturer, Reader, Associate Professor, Professor, and Principal.
