Prof. Dinkarrao Amrutrao Patil is an eminent botanist, researcher, educator, academic leader, and author with more than four decades of distinguished contributions to Plant Sciences. His remarkable career has significantly advanced the fields of Botany through teaching, research, biodiversity conservation, taxonomy, ethnobotany, medicinal plants, plant nomenclature, and environmental sciences.

He began his academic career as a Lecturer in Botany at Z.B. Patil College, Dhule, where he served from 1984 to 1988. He later joined L.K. Dr. P.R. Ghogrey Science College, Dhule, and served in various academic positions including Lecturer, Reader, Associate Professor, Professor, and Principal. His teaching experience spans more than 31 years at undergraduate level and 28 years at postgraduate level.

Prof. Patil has been recognized as an approved teacher by the University of Pune and has made substantial contributions as a postgraduate teacher and research guide under K.B.C. North Maharashtra University, Jalgaon. He also served as Chairman of the Board of Studies in Botany on two occasions and as Dean, Faculty of Science, K.B.C. North Maharashtra University, Jalgaon, Maharashtra, demonstrating exceptional academic leadership and commitment to higher education.
