Dr. Ravindran Chandran is an accomplished horticultural scientist, educator, researcher, and academic professional with more than two decades of experience in fruit science, pomology, temperate and subtropical horticulture, plant propagation, value addition, and sustainable agricultural development. He has served in progressive academic and research positions at Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences & Technology–Jammu and Tamil Nadu Agricultural University (TNAU).

He began his professional career as a Junior Scientist in Pomology at SKUAST-Jammu (2004–2008), where he worked on the introduction, evaluation, and multiplication of subtropical and temperate fruit crops. He subsequently served as a Research Associate at TNAU (2008–2009), coordinating research activities under an ICAR-NAIP project. Since December 2009, he has served TNAU in teaching, research, and extension roles, progressing from Assistant Professor to his present position as Associate Professor and Head, Horticultural and Forestry Research Station, Kodaikanal.

He is a Pioneer and Founder in Initiation of Indian Pomological Society in India.
