Dr. Sobha Kota has a distinguished career spanning over 37 years in teaching and 30 years in research. She currently serves as Incubation Manager at RVR & JCCE STP FOUNDATION, RVR & JC College of Engineering, Guntur, Andhra Pradesh (from February 2024). She has held academic positions ranging from Teaching Assistant, Lecturer, Senior Lecturer, Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, to Professor in various prestigious institutions, including Acharya Nagarjuna University, Bapatla College of Engineering, and RVR & JC College of Engineering.

Her multidisciplinary expertise spans Biotechnology, Chemical Engineering, Environmental Sciences, Zoology, and Bioengineering, where she has significantly contributed to curriculum development, faculty mentoring, and research supervision.

She has received a Gold medal in M. Tech. (Biotechnology) program and 15 gold and silver medals in NPTEL courses. She is a Director cum Founder for 4 startups including Neurop Pharma Products Pvt. Ltd. dealing with advanced wound care product.

Research Contributions

Dr. Sobha Kota has an impressive research record with 59 publications, including papers presented at 9 national seminars and multiple patents in the fields of biotechnology, biomedical engineering, and sustainable technologies. Notable patents include:

• Smart-Dre-M: Biopolymer Composite based Nano-fibrous Wound Dressing Material.

• Nanostructured Catalysts for Hydrogen Production.

• Flexible Prosthetic Hand and several others contributing to biomedical, environmental, and material sciences.

She has successfully guided Ph.D. research, with her student Ratna Kumari Anantha awarded a doctorate in 2018 for research on sorption studies using natural biomaterials.

Dr. Sobha Kota has actively organized and coordinated national and state-level workshops, including AICTE-sponsored seminars on Molecular Modeling and Drug Design, and training sessions on Sustainable Development and Environmental Studies.
