Assoc. Prof. Dr. Swati Sharma is an accomplished academician, researcher, and innovation leader with more than 11 years of combined teaching, research, and postdoctoral experience in polymer science, biomaterials, and engineering chemistry. She currently serves as Associate Professor, Research & Development Coordinator, and IQAC Criterion-3 Coordinator at Dr. D. Y. Patil School of Science & Technology, Dr. D. Y. Patil Vidyapeeth, Pune, India.

She earned her doctoral research training at Banaras Hindu University, where she developed advanced smart polymeric self-healing hydrogels for biomedical applications. She further strengthened her research expertise as an Institute Postdoctoral Fellow at IIT Bombay, focusing on advanced nanocomposite hydrogels with enhanced functional properties. Prior to joining Dr. D. Y. Patil Vidyapeeth, she served as a Lecturer at Anand Engineering College, where she taught engineering chemistry and mentored undergraduate and postgraduate students.

In addition to her teaching responsibilities, Dr. Sharma actively promotes research excellence by guiding faculty and students in quality publications, grant proposal development, intellectual property generation, industry collaborations, and innovation-driven research. She has organized numerous faculty development programmes, workshops, and conferences on research methodology, intellectual property rights, grant writing, and emerging technologies.
