Dr. Gaurav Jhaa is an emerging computational chemist and materials researcher specializing in chemical bonding, molecular orbital theory, and density functional theory (DFT)-based investigations of advanced materials. He completed his higher education with a strong focus on theoretical and computational chemistry and has developed expertise in understanding the structure–property relationships of molecules and materials relevant to energy, catalysis, sensing, and nanotechnology applications.

Dr. Jhaa has served in several academic and teaching roles, including Chemistry Faculty at Sriram Institute, Puducherry, Teaching Assistant at Pondicherry University, and Postdoctoral Researcher at Indian Institute of Science Education and Research Mohali from January 2024 to January 2026. During his postdoctoral tenure, he actively contributed to both research and teaching activities in Computational Chemistry, Quantum Chemistry, Inorganic Chemistry, and Chemistry Laboratory courses for undergraduate and postgraduate students.

In addition, he worked as a Subject Matter Expert for Chegg India and EcademicTube, mentoring and assisting students in chemistry and related scientific disciplines.

Dr. Gaurav Jhaa’s research primarily focuses on computational chemistry, electronic structure analysis, chemical bonding, and the design of functional materials using advanced DFT methodologies. His work spans a broad range of technologically significant materials including graphene oxide systems, covalent organic frameworks, perovskite materials, semiconductors, plasmonic systems, catalysts, corrosion inhibitors, nanomaterials, solar-energy materials, and electrochemical energy storage devices.
