Dr. Leishangthem Chanu Langlentombi is an accomplished Forestry Scientist specializing in Agroforestry, Silviculture, Climate Change Mitigation, Forest Carbon Sequestration, Natural Resource Management, and Sustainable Agriculture. She completed her M.Sc. in Forestry (Plantation Technology) and Ph.D. in Forestry (Silviculture) from Dr. Y.S. Parmar University of Horticulture and Forestry, where her doctoral research focused on floristic composition, carbon density, and nutrient dynamics in natural and plantation forest ecosystems.
She began her scientific career after securing First Rank in ICAR-Agricultural Research Service (Agroforestry Discipline) in 2018 and joined ICAR-Indian Institute of Natural Resins and Gums (ICAR-IINRG) as a Scientist. Her research there emphasized lac-based agroforestry systems, biomass production, carbon stock assessment, and sustainable intercropping models for improving farmers' livelihoods.
