Prof. D. K. Dwivedi is a distinguished academician and researcher in the field of Physics, presently serving as a Professor of Physics at Madan Mohan Malaviya University of Technology (M.M.M.U.T.), Gorakhpur. He began his professional journey as a Scientific Officer ‘C’ at BARC, Mumbai in 2001 and later joined D.D.U. Gorakhpur University as a Lecturer. Over the years, he has progressed through various academic positions — Lecturer, Senior Lecturer, Reader (Assistant Professor), Associate Professor, and currently Professor — demonstrating an unwavering commitment to teaching, research, and academic leadership.
He obtained his Ph.D. in Physics (2006) from D.D.U. Gorakhpur University, where he had also completed his M.Sc. (Physics, 1999) and B.Sc. (1997), both with First Class First and Gold Medals.
Research Contributions and Publications
Prof. Dwivedi has an outstanding research record with 579 publications, including 331 papers in international refereed journals (SCI/SJR), 42 in national journals, and 206 conference presentations. His prolific contributions have significantly advanced the fields of amorphous semiconductors, optoelectronic materials, fiber optic sensors, solar cells, and surface plasmon resonance (SPR) sensors.
He has authored/co-authored 2 books, 16 book chapters, and edited 3 scientific volumes, along with holding 3 patents.
His works have contributed immensely to the development and characterization of chalcogenide and perovskite materials for optical memory, photonic, and solar cell applications.

Prof. Dwivedi is actively engaged in academic development through leadership roles and collaborations. He coordinated the UKIERI-AICTE project on Academic Leadership and Management, demonstrating his commitment to institutional growth.
He has organized 10 national/international conferences, delivered 54 invited talks, and serves as Editor for 10 scientific journals and referee for 48 international journals.
He is a Life Fellow of the Optical Society of India and member of several academic and scientific bodies.
