Dr. Rasmita Mohanty is a distinguished library and information science professional with an exemplary academic record. She completed her Master of Library & Information Science (MLISc.) from Sambalpur University, securing the First Rank and receiving the University Gold Medal in 2006. Her strong academic foundation laid the path for her specialization in diverse and emerging areas of information science including bibliometrics, scientometrics, webometrics, open access systems, information literacy, and research methodology.
Professional Background
Since 17th November 2011, Dr. Mohanty has been serving as the College Librarian (Academic Level–12) at Tolani College of Commerce (Autonomous), Mumbai. Prior to this, she worked with KIIT University, gaining valuable exposure to law librarianship, medical librarianship, and academic library systems. She has also served in institutions of national importance, including NIT Rourkela and the Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bangalore, further enriching her professional versatility.
Her expertise spans Scientometrics, Web 2.0/3.0 technologies, IT applications in library services, copyright and IPR, research ethics, academic and research visibility enhancement, academic profiling systems, National Education Policy (NEP), and Indian Knowledge Systems (IKS).
