Mr. Madhusudhan Rao has served with distinction in the Telangana State Dairy Development Cooperative Federation Ltd. (TSDDCF) since May 1993, holding progressive leadership roles and currently serving as General Manager (Procurement) at the Head Office, Hyderabad. His professional journey spans over three decades of dedicated service to the dairy development sector, focusing on milk procurement, farmer empowerment, livestock productivity enhancement, and rural livelihood improvement.

He has also been associated with the Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) as an academic faculty member, contributing to knowledge dissemination through All India Radio programs and translations of Dairy Development and Technology (DDT) educational materials into Telugu, thus making technical knowledge accessible to rural learners.

Major Achievements & Contributions

  • Revival of Dairy Sector in Chittoor District (A.P.): Initiated and led the revival of dairy activity in Chittoor district by organizing Women Self-Help Groups (SHGs), achieving 50,000 LPD milk procurement within just seven months from a zero baseline. Established 12 Bulk Milk Cooling Units and one Milk Chilling Centre at Madanapalle.

  • Fodder Development: Pioneered the concept of Fodder Week celebrations to promote awareness among farmers and established Super Napier (APBN) nurseries in rural areas.

  • Cattle Induction & Calf Rearing Programs: Successfully implemented cattle induction under the NABARD Kamadhenu Scheme in 35 villages and initiated Calf Rearing Programmes under RKVY in Adilabad district.

  • Innovative Feed Interventions: Introduced Azolla as a low-cost and nutritious feed supplement for dairy farmers in Madanapalle, Kamareddy, Nizamabad, and Adilabad.

  • Public Health Initiative: Launched Vitaminised Milk Supply to Tribal Welfare and Social Welfare institutions to improve students’ nutritional status.

  • Consultancy & Research: Provided technical consultancy to more than 50 dairy farms and BMC units, conducted surveys on urban dairying, and offered practical recommendations for improving profitability.

  • Academic & Extension Work: Regular contributor of articles to leading agricultural magazines and journals, effectively bridging the gap between science and farmers.
