Dr. Shyni Bernard has an extensive academic career spanning over 17 years in the field of pharmaceutical sciences. She has been serving as an Associate Professor of Pharmacy (College of Allied Professions) at the Government Medical College, Kottayam since April 2012, contributing more than 12 years of dedicated service in this institution. Her teaching expertise covers a broad range of pharmacy subjects, fostering the development of future pharmacists and healthcare professionals.

Research Experience & Contributions

Dr. Bernard is a passionate researcher with a focus on pharmaceutical formulation, drug analysis, and applied pharmacy research. She has successfully completed three funded research projects under the State Board of Medical Research, serving as the Principal Investigator for one project and Co-Investigator for two others, all completed in 2017.

Her commitment to academic mentorship is reflected in her guidance of over 35 undergraduate research projects for final-year B.Pharm students. Additionally, she serves as a PhD guide under the Kerala University of Health Sciences (KUHS), nurturing advanced research in the field of pharmacy.

Publications & Scholarly Engagement

Dr. Bernard has an impressive record of 17 journal publications, including 14 original research papers and 3 review articles published in esteemed national and international journals.

She also contributes to the academic community as a peer reviewer, having reviewed a book chapter for BP International Publications and a research article for the Asian Journal of Pediatric Research.

Her scholarly excellence has been recognized through two Best Article Awards (2025) for outstanding research publications.
