Dr. Yamuna K. S has been serving as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering at Sona College of Technology, Salem, since 21st July 2011, accumulating over 18 years of academic and research experience. She has consistently demonstrated excellence in teaching, mentoring, and research, contributing significantly to technological innovation and applied engineering education.

Her areas of expertise include IoT-based smart systems, automation, renewable energy technologies, and AI-driven control mechanisms. Throughout her career, she has played a pivotal role in bridging theoretical knowledge with practical applications through project-based learning and industry collaboration.

Research & Innovation Contributions

Dr. Yamuna’s commitment to research and innovation is reflected through her 21 international journal publications, 20 international conference papers, and 19 national conference presentations. She has also undertaken 9 research projects, emphasizing innovation in sustainable technologies, healthcare automation, and smart infrastructure.

She holds six patents, including three published and three recently filed during AY 2024–25, on advanced interdisciplinary topics such as:

  • Automated Medicine Dispenser Systems

  • Bio-Based Smart Cooling Seat with AI-Controlled Thermal Regulation
