Dr. Mohammad Lateef Lone is a dedicated researcher with a strong academic foundation in Plant Physiology and Biochemistry, with particular emphasis on plant developmental processes and postharvest biology. He began his research career as a Junior Research Fellow (CSIR–JRF, India) and has since made meaningful contributions to plant science research through scholarly publications, academic training programs, and presentations at national and international scientific forums.

Research Specialization and Interests

Dr. Lone’s primary area of specialization lies in Plant Physiology and Biochemistry, with major research interests including:

  • Flower senescence and programmed cell death

  • Leaf senescence

  • Postharvest biology of ornamental plants

  • Floriculture

In addition to his core research domain, he has secondary research interests in biotechnology and bioinformatics, which he applies as supportive tools to strengthen physiological and biochemical investigations rather than as primary research themes.
