Dr. Devindrappa M has been serving as a Scientist (SS) at ICAR-IIHR, Bengaluru since March 12, 2024. With over a decade of experience in agricultural research, extension, and institute development, he has made significant contributions to plant protection, nematology, and sustainable crop management. He has been associated with seven institutional research projects, successfully executing them and generating impactful outcomes.
Research Contributions & Technologies Developed:
Dr. Devindrappa has contributed extensively to research on plant-parasitic nematodes and eco-friendly crop protection. His key achievements include:-
Development of in vitro culturing methodology for lesion nematodes (Pratylenchus thornei) on carrot discs.

Formulation of management strategies for Heterodera cajani using appropriate cropping sequences.

Identification of resistant genotypes of chickpea, field pea, mungbean, urdbean, lentil, and wild relatives against Meloidogyne javanica.

Development of bio-fumigation and organic amendment strategies for suppression of root-knot nematodes.

Demonstration of the antagonistic potential of indigenous Trichoderma spp. and entomopathogenic nematodes (Steinernema siamkayai) against key pests.

Eco-friendly and integrated management practices for sustainable nematode control in pulse and horticultural crops.
Publications & Scholarly Work:
Dr. Devindrappa has published over 22 research papers, authored 5 book chapters, 3 training manuals, and 11 popular articles, in addition to 5 e-publications. He has actively contributed to national and international conferences, workshops, and training programs, sharing his expertise in nematology and sustainable crop protection.Awards & Recognition:
