Dr. Kumari Sita is an accomplished botanist, plant physiologist, environmental researcher, and academic professional with expertise spanning plant stress biology, plant biochemistry, eco-physiology, conservation biology, climate change, air pollution, and sustainable development. She has served as an Assistant Professor of Botany at Khalsa College for Women, Amritsar, since August 2022. Her earlier research appointments include Research Associate at CSIR-IHBT, Palampur, and Senior Project Associate in projects focused on high-altitude bioresources and conservation of threatened plant species.

She received the UGC National Fellowship for Higher Education of ST Students (2015–2020) during her Ph.D. and also worked as a Research Fellow on an ICARDA-funded project.

Dr. Sita's research has particularly focused on understanding the physiological, biochemical, and reproductive responses of legumes and cereals to drought, heat, salinity, and other environmental stresses.
